Happy New Year! It's the time of year when I like to re-evaluate my wardrobe, seeing how you feel about what I have. I find that pieces in your wardrobe can be elevated and updated, as we enter a new year of trends, by simply revisiting pieces in your jewellery wardrobe. I would start by having a good look at what you already own and consider how you wear them. Next consider the trends and styling techniques or just follow our lead!
Layering necklaces is still a big trend for 2025... why wear one when you can wear three? However, layering a chain ensemble can sometimes be problematic - getting tangled or swinging around so I bring you my tried and tested advice.
Start by looking at what necklace length you feel suits you the best and then make this your foundation piece. I would then go for a gap of, minimum 2", before layering the next one and finally a long one.
A layered chain combo looks feminine, delicate and doesn't compete with your outfit but will certainly elevate your look, be that casual or formal. It can also look incredibly sexy if they sit within an open neck shirt.
In terms of what goes together, personal choice will be the decider - maybe a precious gift or an inherited piece, teamed with something newer.
Personally, I look the mix of large and small on a theme, such as the Rae Grey Pearls with diamond look Rondelles and the fine diamond look necklace - Eleanor. You can arrange the Eleanor necklace long in one or layered as two.
They compliment each other so beautifully with their gorgeous silver/grey and diamond theme, taking each piece to a whole other level.
Another winning formula if choosing pendant for your layers, is to wear one at the top and one at the bottom on a longer length. That way you can appreciate each pendant and not overload the look. The elegant Nadia is given a modern twist when we teamed with Innes silver coin.
